Check out her answers to our 5 Creator Questions this week:
Who are you and what do you do?
I’m a writer/director and I focus on mostly drama films and comedy TV shows. I also do photography, but mostly as a hobby just because I love it!

How did you get started?
I got into photography around ten years ago and I got into film around five years ago. I recently graduated from NYU Tisch, where I majored in Film and TV.
What sets you apart?
I come from a family of science-oriented people. My parents are both doctors and my brother is getting his PhD in physics. Going into the film industry really surprised everyone in my family, including myself.
What obstacles did you have to overcome?
I had never really grown up seeing all the classic films like other kids had. I had to watch a lot of classic films that everyone else had grown up with on my own once I got to college. Because my parents immigrated here, I mostly watched movies that they grew up on – so mostly it was a lot of Bollywood movies from the 70s.
Do you have any tips for other creators?
