This week’s spotlight is on creative collaborators, Christina Grigoreva and Dave Masalov. A truly dynamic duo, Chris and Dave are masters of mixed media, combining various artistic elements into visually-arresting compositions.
They state that their art is a constant pursuit of the “perfect match of shape, line and color” and their site embodies that trinity flawlessly. From the bright and intriguing pieces featured in their selected works page, to their impressive exhibition installations, to the behind-the-scenes peek at their studio, Chris and Dave have integrated their individual energies to create beautiful art and a beautiful site.
Let’s check in with them and hear their answers to our 5 Creator Questions:
Who are you and what do you do?
We are contemporary artists working with different media, mainly painting, sculpture, and installation. Our work incorporates abstract, figurative and conceptual art as well as having influences from surrealism and pop art.

How did you get started?
We always liked to draw and create stuff, but it became a serious occupation only after Dave quit his day job in IT and Chris said goodbye to her University studies. The starting point were a couple of expressive abstract paintings done together as an experiment that went super well. Then we realized that working as an artist team has many benefits.
What sets you apart?
We create honest and original pieces that ideally would look great both in a museum and in a collector’s home while still carrying a positive message. Happiness is the key: we are happy to be doing what we do to make you happy by looking at our creations, while giving you food for thought to change something in your life to make you even happier in the future.
What obstacles did you have to overcome?
At the beginning it was much harder to compromise on mutually acceptable solutions. But the more projects we do together the better the cooperation is. In this case, practice does make perfect it seems.

Do you have any tips for other creators?
Don’t hesitate too much. Think about what you really want to do, what makes you happy and then just start doing it. Experiment as long as you need to find a way to express yourself, be it art or any other business.
It’s impossible to do their style justice by categorizing it, so we encourage you to explore their full site for yourselves! Check out their Instagram page as well to get artistic inspiration in your feed 🙂
