This week’s dose of inspiration comes from Tel Aviv designer Or Gal. We’re huge fans of his sleek and elegant designs – especially how he can take century-old inventions and manage to give them a breath of fresh air.
Let’s check in with Or himself and let him answer our 5 Creator Questions:
Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Or Gal, a Product Designer based in Tel Aviv. In my work, I try to create products that feel like art objects, my main goal is to explore the way of making things that we regularly buy and use and even collect.
How did you get started?
From a young age, I developed a passion for the function of products and the way people feel and interact with them. I studied industrial design in Tel Aviv and Milan and I continue learning from every project I create.

What sets you apart?
Design for me is constant work, combining and balancing different fields and interests with the purpose of making the perfect result: making things, situations, and actions easier for the user and thereby improve their daily life. My main influences are fashion, art, and graphic design. I derive inspiration for my designs from nature and human behavior by observing the people I meet and the unique cultures I run into. I’m a curious person, exhautively researching every detail until I come up with new textures, shapes, and color combinations.

What obstacles did you have to overcome?
I grew up in an area that didn’t have a lot of resources about art and design, so I had to learn everything by myself and through my own experience. It took a lot of time and strength to do all by myself, but in the end I appreciate the process.
