This week’s dose of inspiration comes from Mallorca-based creator, Vicky Díaz. She is a teacher at Hot Bikram Yoga. That sounds so good on these cold December days!
Vicky is the first representative from the yoga world in our “Creator of the Week” posts. She shared her professional story with us. Let’s get to know her practice of yoga through her answers to our 5 Creator Questions this week.
Who are you, and what do you do?
I’m a Bikram hot yoga teacher, and I teach online and private classes at home or in the nature, as well as I do workshops or posture clinics around the world.
How did you get started?
I knew about this yoga when I was suffering from back pain due to spinal disc herniation. From my very first class and for the first time in a long time, I felt rested physically and emotionally, all the pain in my back was released quickly. At first, I was surprised and humbled by the feeling, not knowing exactly what it meant. After years of daily practice, I saw my body and mind become stronger and more efficient. I realized I found a new path in life and decided to become a Bikram hot yoga teacher.
What sets you apart?
Nowadays, to practice Bikram hot yoga, people need to go to yoga studios conditioned with heat, but I offer that experience at home. There is no more teachers doing it. There are many places where there is not a hot yoga studio nearby, and also there is people who can not fix their schedule with the studio’s schedule. I want to bring the Bikram hot yoga to every spot around the world, so more people can experience one of the most therapeutic yoga, and they can forget about pain in their bodies and minds as I did when I started practicing.
What obstacles did you have to overcome?
The most challenging obstacle was to know how to generate the right heat at home in a regular room. After time investigating and traveling around the world visiting and working in different studios, I realized that there are many different ways to create the perfect conditions to practice Bikram hot yoga just following some tips.
Do you have any tips for other creators?
I think that IM CREATOR is an amazing and easy way to professionalize what you do. I recommend you just start and do your website. You have the ease of try different things, and the more you try, the more you know what works or not, and what you need to tell to your customers.
