This week’s dose of inspiration comes from Sasha Kendel, of AK Graphic Design. As stated on her site, less is more, and Sasha’s site design holds true to her words; her portfolio is organized neatly and she incorporates high-contrast transitional sections that break the page into perfectly portioned pieces.
We could go on all day about how clean and bright design is not just her ambition – it’s her reality, but let’s let her speak for herself, shall we?
Here are Sasha’s answers to our 5 Creator Questions:
Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Sasha, and I’m a product and marketing designer at a startup in the customer service industry. We create software products utilizing augmented reality and AI (Deep Learning).

How did you get started?
At age three I started to draw. I drew all my life, and in high school I discovered Photoshop. Later, during my army service, I went to student exhibitions at art schools and realized that I wanted to be graphic designer.
What sets you apart?
I’m a very curious person, and my curiosity has given me experience with a lot of tools. I can do video editing, product photography, motion graphics, web design, branding, UX / UI, and print. My varied skill set allows me to have an impact on multiple projects while.

What obstacles did you have to overcome?
I was accepted to the university only on the third try. However, once I had passed the auditions, I was accepted to all the universities that I applied to, and I had my choice of where to study.
I also had a hard time finding my first job in design – it took quite a while. After every rejection I told myself not to give up, that my time will come, and I just kept pushing until it did.

Do you have any tips for other creators?
Typically, successful projects or jobs only come after a lot of failure and moments of despair. It’s important in these moments to not give up, to keep pushing, to keep working. If you persevere, eventually you will find success, so don’t give up!
